The OP3000 System offers both absolute testing and relative testing and offers extraordinary flexibility for advanced phase noise testing in demanding environments. It is the only rugged phase noise test system of its kind in the market.

“Just turn it on, touch one button on the touch screen - that’s all that is needed to perform a complex, multi-measurement phase noise test in a matter of seconds..."

System Architecture

  • Based upon a Hybrid Delay-line Discriminator / PLL Noise Measurement System.
  • The OP3000 is “Frequency Agnostic” - can perform AM/FM measurements on any frequency within the band.
  • No crystals or LOs required (requires only the source under test for stimulus).
  • No downconverter is required.
  • Advantages of phase lock loop and delay line discriminator technology combined in one.
  • Superior noise performance achieved without the need for noise cancellation algorithms.
  • Capable of absolute and relative measurements.
  • Simple, modular design, high degree of COTS components, resulting in easy maintenance / repair / upgrades.
  • Fully integrated, user definable, automated, software routines (“Synthetic Instrument”).
  • Fully automated, software controlled, noise measurements and test routine execution.
  • Extraordinary flexibility offers variety of options/modes:
    - Relative measurements of -160 dBc/Hz @ 10kHz at X-Band
    - L band to Ku band, (other frequency bands optional)
    - Power in a pulse measurements
    - Simultaneous AM & FM measurements
    - Spectrum analyzer mode

Key Benefits

  • The OP3000 provides extraordinary phase noise performance, with virtually no noise spurs, without using spur cancellation algorithms.
  • The OP3000 does not require a separate source or downconverter for performing noise measurements.
  • Fully integrated, user definable, automated, software routines make the OP3000 a true “Synthetic Instrument”.
  • Fast, fully automated, software controlled, noise measurements and test routine execution for even the most complex tasks.
  • Flexibility – configurable for various programs and tasks, adaptable to a multitude of automated measurement and user-defined specifications.
  • Full two-way Device Under Test (DUT) interaction via 2 USB and GPIB ports.
  • Tailored to User’s needs: OmniPhase works closely with the customer to develop cost-effective user-specific, tailor-made configurations and solutions.
